Exhibition sourcing

[edit]

I've "sourced" some of the exhibitions (in the unsourced list bequeathed by the SPA who created this article) to a PDF from the Goodman Gallery. But this PDF should be viewed with suspicion: It sometimes presents as exhibition titles the names of galleries, it situates Brussels in Germany, etc. If/when better sourcing can be found for any of these, the reference to the PDF should be pulled. -- Hoary (talk) 00:59, 16 February 2011 (UTC) (slightly rewritten 03:45, 18 February 2011 (UTC))[reply]

As with other photographers, Googling brings plenty of lists of exhibitions by DG, many of which seem to to be unthinking copies of each other (complete with the same orthographic oddities, etc). Certainly there are plenty of web pages that say that there was an exhibition at the Tate Modern in 2004 titled "History, Memory, Society". However, (i) these all seem to be about Goldblatt; I haven't noticed this in lists of exhibitions by Cartier-Bresson or Friedlander; (ii) this isn't mentioned in this list by the Tate itself, yet it should be there if it really occurred. Did the Tate forget to include it in its list, or didn't it ever take place? -- Hoary (talk) 03:45, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
